You have heard it said that trials purify us. I beg to differ. I know many people that went through so many tests and trials but the experience never changed them. Instead they became bitter even to the point of being upset with God… remember Job’s wife?
The main purpose of trials is to reveal what’s inside of us. If we are full of God (love), only God (love) will come to the surface. If we are filled with anything but love, it will come to the source as well.
When you put unrefined gold into the crucible, the impurities will always bubble up to the top. In the same way every test, trial or temptation will reveal whats in your heart. It’s what you do with what’s revealed that will determine if you will change for the better or not.
“In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord…Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of host.”
“Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar:”
“And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged”
Like Isaiah, only those who see the wrechtedness of their hearts when it’s revealed, and go to God in sincere repentance will be cleansed
What do your trials reveal about you
