What is the prize for surrender? What do we get after we dedicate and consecrate ourselves to God? The disciples asked the same question, "What will we get seeing we have left everything and followed you?"
Like the disciples, it's natural to expect something back. There those that surrender because they was more power, see more miracles, blessing. And yes, Jesus said that anything you forsake for Him and the gospel you will get back… a hundred fold.
28Peter began to say to Him, “Behold, we have left everything and followed You.” 29Jesus said, “Truly I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or farms, for My sake and for the gospel’s sake, 30but that he will receive a hundred times as much now in the present age, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and farms, along with persecutions; and in the age to come, eternal life. Mark 10:28
This sounds like great. A hundred times more now and for eternity? Who will not want that? But that is to the real prize for surrender. The a hufred fold comes with persecution. So what is the real prize? The real prize is you get your life back. Its that simple. “I will give your life to you as a prize….” For whosoever will save his life shall lose it, and whosoever will lose his life for My sake shall find it.
The reason people are tired of life is that God has not given them anything— they have not been given their life “as a prize.” The way to get out of that condition is to abandon yourself to God. And once you do get to the point of total surrender to Him, you will be the most surprised and delighted person on earth. God will have you absolutely, without any limitations, and He will have given you your life.
A life given back is full of joy ad peace no matter what you are going through, It is patient, kind, free of all worry and fear.
