v. 15 — “The day of the LORD” is first mentioned. (This is not the Lord’s day. There is a vast difference of meaning). The day of the LORD begins with the Great Tribulation and extends through the Millennial Kingdom. The plague of locusts was in a real sense a miniature day of the LORD. The plague was an adumbration of the Great Tribulation.
vv. 16-20 — These are the results of the locust plague.
